Overview

Channel planning considers occupied bandwidth and neighboring transmitters. In many 2.4 GHz deployments with 20 MHz channels, 1, 6 and 11 provide a common non-overlapping plan. Wider channels consume more spectrum. Regulatory channels and DFS rules vary by region.
